I began The Far Left Side (Originally titled "The Far Right Side") in a progressive fervor leading up to the mid-term elections of 2006, trying to do what I could to influence the vote in my own little way.

Once the House and Senate had been, supposedly, taken by Democrats that November I rested from my comic labors, only fitfully taking the reins of the strip in my teeth again months later in mid-2007. This failure to create new comics was more the fault of a crushing work load than any disinterest in the strip, and hardly a day passed that I didn't think about it for a second or two. But then I looked at the list of jobs ahead of me, shackled myself back into my digital leg-irons and began the day's long slog.

In early 2008 I looked closer at my web logs and discovered that, by Crom, people were reading these things. REALLY reading them. It was clear that it was time to take the comic a bit more seriously. My work schedule was no less frantic than it ever was but who needs sleep anyway?

This modest comic will never equal the original works of Mr. Larson, as that creative lightning strikes but once, but I hope those of you with a foot in reality's door enjoy it anyway.
